Auctane - Parent Brand Rebrand

As the leading name in shipping and mailing, Auctane creates delivery experiences that move the world. What started as a portfolio architecture project seamlessly blended into a comprehensive rebrand for the parent brand (Auctane) and each of its portfolio brands (Stamps.com, ShipStation, and ShipEngine). I had the pleasure of leading the charge for Auctane’s rebrand, which created a strong strategic and creative foundation for the entire portfolio of brands.

Voice & Tone Guidelines

We were inspired by the curious spirit of the Explorer archetype, but knew that as the parent brand, Auctane would play a unique editorial role as the primary storyteller for each brand within its portfolio. As the brand entered a new era, achieving balance was key: infusing more much-needed playfulness, while maintaining its well-earned customer trust and credibility. I centered the brand’s verbal identity around the idea of Curated Curiosity. Paired with a delightfully refined illustration style and a fresh, modern palette, this set the tone for the broader portfolio.

Tagline

Landing Auctane’s new tagline meant going back to its roots. In an industry oversaturated with “Ship Smarter” cliches, they wanted something truly unique, but still relevant to the category. After playing with endless options exploring the power of connection and the logistics of shipping and mailing, I was inspired by the simplicity and limitless possibilities of addressing an envelope. The final tagline, “From: here. To: anywhere” conveys that open-ended possibility while paying homage to the rich history of mailing and shipping.

Brand Description

Sometimes, you just need a basic brand description. Ideal for LinkedIn bios, short press write-ups, and more, I crafted Auctane’s go-to boilerplate language to communicate their purpose, ethos, and capabilities in just a few short lines.
